The Glasgow Clan, sponsored by , are delighted to announce Malcolm Cameron as our new Head Coach and Head of Hockey Operations.

The 51-year-old Canadian joins the Clan having coached in the ECHL over a period of twenty years with the Cincinnati Cyclones, Long Beach Ice Dogs, Texas Wildcatters, Florida Everblades, Elmira Jackals and Wichita Thunder.

Cameron, who has Scottish ancestry, is currently fifth in all-time ECHL games coached (771) and fifth in all-time ECHL in career wins (401).

Clan Chief Operating Officer Gareth Chalmers is delighted with Cameron’s arrival: “We’ve spent a considerable amount of time looking at almost thirty different candidates for the role.

“With the anticipated exciting new developments at the club, it was imperative we were able to appoint someone who would bring head coaching experience as well as having carried out a previous hockey operations role off the ice.

“After interviewing a number of candidates all with very impressive backgrounds and experience, we felt Malcolm was the best person for the position.

“His coaching experience and record was obviously key in the decision making, however his invaluable recruiting experience, extensive contacts and connection to Scotland were fundamental in the decision making process.

“Malcolm is extremely excited to becoming to Scotland and joining The Clan, we’re looking forward to welcoming him to Glasgow for an exciting new period for everyone associated with the club.”
