PAQ: Online Communication Report

May 26, 2024

At the Glasgow Clan, we are committed to improving the fan experience of the Purple Army at Braehead Arena. For us to do this effectively, we need to know what we’re doing right and what fans would like to see improved and/or changed.

That’s why at the beginning of the off-season we put together a series of short questionnaires to ask for your feedback on how we could make your Glasgow Clan experience better.

The 5 Purple Army Questionnaire sections were:

1: Game Day

2: Merchandise & Online Shop

3: Facilities

4: Online Communication

5: Ticketing

Over the past 6 weeks, the Purple Army have responded in droves through each section of the Purple Army Questionnaires, including Online Communication

–

Below, we’ve put together the key points taken from the feedback provided by the Purple Army in our Online Communication questionnaire. Under each point, we’ve provided a comment from the management team on an improvement/change to be implemented (if there is one).

Many fans were happy with the overall communication strategy from the club across X, Facebook and Instagram. However, there were specific areas for improvement on WhatsApp and TikTok.

Overall, fans wanted to see more player content alongside ‘behind the scenes’ videos of training sessions and club outings.

Fans were very happy with the current website with some requests for additional content such as player and game stats to be easily accessible.

Fans were pleased with an increase in Player Content in the latter half of the 2023/24 season. However, they wanted more.  The Club has committed to a more robust content creation strategy for season 2024/25 that will include more frequent player content.
Fans felt the WhatsApp Channel and TikTok account were forgotten about & lacked the same frequency of posting as other platforms.  The Club is exploring ways to introduce software that will ensure cross-posting is more thorough and efficient.
Fans asked for less ‘salesly’ posts.  The Club’s content strategy for season 2024/25 will feature a more diverse range of content types.
Fans asked for different content on different platforms.   The Club’s content strategy for Season 2024/25 will include more tailored content for different platforms.
Fans would like more regular updates on Club specific news such as arena changes, game information and player injuries.  Where possible, the Club will issue more club updates through the e-newsletter and X social media platform.
Fans asked for a downloadable fixture calendar.  The Club will look at the best solution for allowing fans to download and store fixture information on their mobile device.
47% of 378 respondents said they used the Glasgow Clan website to keep up to date with fixture information.
Fans asked for more player information & game stats to be added to the website  The Club will explore options for adding a Clan Game Centre to the site that will keep fans up to date with player stats and game stats throughout the season.

The Glasgow Clan would like to extend a sincere thank you to the fans who took the time to complete each feedback form. This will help shape future improvements in and around the Glasgow Clan and Braehead Arena.
