PAQ: Merchandise Report

At the Glasgow Clan, we are committed to improving the fan experience of the Purple Army at Braehead Arena. For us to do this effectively, we need to know what we’re doing right and what fans would like to see improved and/or changed.  

That’s why at the beginning of the off-season we put together a series of short questionnaires to ask for your feedback on how we could make your Glasgow Clan experience better.  

The 5 Purple Army Questionnaire sections were:  

1: Game Day   

2: Merchandise & Online Shop   

3: Facilities   

4: Online Communication   

5: Ticketing   

Over the past 6 weeks, the Purple Army have responded in droves through each section of the Purple Army Questionnaires, including Merchandise

Below, we’ve put together the key points taken from the feedback provided by the Purple Army in our Merchandise questionnaire. Under each point, we’ve provided a comment from the management team on an improvement/change to be implemented (if there is one).   

57.8% of 763 felt the selection of merchandise was adequate. 

KIDS MERCHANDISE    
57% of 328 responses felt the kid’s merch offering was inadequate 
Generally, customers felt their products were good value for money 
Fans felt there wasn’t enough sizes on offer for Kids, especially teenagers.  The club will look at ways to improve forecasting and stock availability. 
Fans felt there was a lack of design variation.  The Club will explore new designs to freshen up the merch offering. 
ADULTS MERCHANDISE   
56.8% of 708 felt the adult offering was adequate with 84% ordering sizes between medium & xx-large. 
Most customers who have purchased jumpers & t-shirts and felt they were good value for money. 
Fans wanted to see more simplistic designs with increased availability   The Club will aim to improve the size availability and design options for Season 2024/25 
ACCESSORIES & HOMEWARE   
63% of 580 respondents felt the accessories and homeware offering was adequate. 
72% felt the items they purchased were good value for money. 
Top 3 most bought products:  

  1. Hats 67% 
  1. Pucks 40% 
  1. Scarves 27% 
Fans requested better stock availability.  The Club will look to improve the stock levels of homeware and accessories. 
JERSEYS   
74% of 687 people said they were happy with this year’s jersey design. 
54% bought replica jerseys and 64% of those felt it was good value for money. 
249 people had bought an authentic jersey, 184 felt it was good value for money. 
Fans wanted to see less themed jerseys and for the ability to purchase replica themed jerseys.  The Club will review its plans for themed/special games and make changes where possible.  

The Club will also investigate the feasibility of having a replica themed jersey available for purchase 

ONLINE SHOP   
435 of 645 people had ordered from the online shop. 383 of whom felt it was easy to navigate. 
56% of fans felt the delivery costs were too high and this stopped them from purchasing  The Club will explore alternative delivery options and the feasibility of offering click and collect. 

The Glasgow Clan would like to extend a sincere thank you to the fans who took the time to complete each feedback form. This will help shape future improvements in and around the Glasgow Clan and Braehead Arena.
