PAQ: Game Day Results

May 24, 2024

At the Glasgow Clan, we are committed to improving the fan experience of the Purple Army at Braehead Arena. For us to do this effectively, we need to know what we’re doing right and what fans would like to see improved and/or changed.

That’s why at the beginning of the off-season we put together a series of short questionnaires to ask for your feedback on how we could make your Glasgow Clan experience better.

The 5 Purple Army Questionnaire sections were:

1: Game Day

2: Merchandise & Online Shop

3: Facilities

4: Online Communication

5: Ticketing

Over the past 6 weeks, the Purple Army have responded in droves through each section of the Purple Army Questionnaires, starting with Game Day.

Below, we’ve put together the key points taken from the feedback provided by the Purple Army in our Game Day questionnaire. Under each point, we’ve provided a comment from the management team on an improvement/change to be implemented (if there is one).

Pre-game:

The vast majority (72%) of 1207 people felt the Game Day experience had improved in Season 2023/24 vs 2022/23.

PRE-GAME
Better signposting for restrooms in the foyer, and the vendors in Foyer 2.  The Club will look at adding extra signage to certain areas of the arena alongside the introduction of an arena map that will aid fans in finding facilities around the arena.
Improved queue marking & management for merch/OSC tables/50/50/SOTB & Equipment Raffle.  The Club will explore different ways to improve queue visibility and reduce congestion in the foyer.
More variety with music choices during pre-game & warm-up.   The Club will try to change the music for next season with more rock, country and pop music as per fans’ requests.
The sound quality within the bowl was deemed inadequate for 514 (main blocks included A,B,M,N) respondents.  Unfortunately, the Club cannot commit to a whole new speaker system within the next 6-9 months. However, we will work to improve the sound quality to the best of our ability.
FIST BUMP ZONE
Many fans felt the player into was too long from black out to face-off.  The Club will use the new screens to shorten the player introduction.
FIRST INTERVAL
Fans requested the introduction of ‘child-friendly’ interval games and the return of the figure skaters.  The Club is already looking at ways to improve the First Interval entertainment offering such as alternating figure skating with the introducing new games for Season 2024/25
Many fans felt the playlist at each interval had become stale and needed improvement.  As previously stated, the Club will look to change the music selection for season 2024/25.
SECOND INTERVAL
Fans would like spot prizes to return to the second interval and third period.  The Club is working on partnerships with local businesses to provide more spot prize options.
There were requests for more chuck-a-puck prizes.  The Club is looking into ways to change the chuck-a-puck format.
POST-GAME
Many responses requested the return of the Skate with the Clan.  Skate with the Clan will be returning for Season 2024/25. However, The Club may change the format.
Fans requested that players mingle with fans in the bar after games.  This will be fed back to the team in the new season.

The Glasgow Clan would like to extend a sincere thank you to the fans who took the time to complete each feedback form. This will help shape future improvements in and around the Glasgow Clan and Braehead Arena.
