NEWS: Sharks at the double for Clan in pre-season

The Glasgow Clan will start their 2024/25 campaign with two pre-season road games against the Solway Sharks.

The double header weekend against the National Ice Hockey League side will take place on Saturday 24th (7:00pm face-off) and Sunday 25th August (5:00pm face-off) at the Dumfries Ice Bowl.

Both clubs have enjoyed an association through the years, with many players having featured for both sides, including Liam Stenton, Bari McKenzie, Craig Peacock and John Dunbar.

It will also be the first meeting between the sides since Clan visited Solway in their first game back after the Covid pandemic in November 2021.

Clan’s Managing Director Gareth Chalmers looked ahead to the games reaffirming the relationship held by the two teams.

“The Solway Sharks and the Glasgow Clan have enjoyed a great relationship through the years and these two games will continue that when we meet in August,” he said.

“I appreciate not everyone is going to be able to travel to Germany for the Warrior Pro Tournament, so I wanted to give the Purple Army the first opportunity to see their team closer to home.

“I want to thank everyone at Solway Sharks for helping to set the two games up and we look forward to a great start to the season in Dumfries.”

Tickets for the games will be available from 10am on Saturday on the Solway Sharks website.
