STATEMENT: Record investment in the Glasgow Clan

The Glasgow Clan would like to update the Purple Army regarding a series of significant investments made by the ownership group in their first year, reflecting their steadfast commitment to the team and its loyal supporters. These developments underscore the ownership’s dedication to securing the long term viability of the club and our Braehead Arena home.

Since taking the helm, the ownership has invested millions into the Clan and Braehead Arena, to ensure the business remains sustainable during a difficult economic period with increased utility prices and operational costs. Key investments include the installation of a brand new ice plant in excess of £1 million, crucial for the long term viability of ice in the Arena. Additionally, fans will notice the installation of a cube of centre ice screens, which are the result of a further £400k investment, alongside significant upgrades to the dressing rooms and hospitality areas, creating a superior environment for both players and supporters.

In what was already a record year for team investment, the ownership have already significantly increased the on ice budget with the aim of improving on last season’s extremely disappointing tenth place finish. These investments reflect our unwavering ambition to build a self-sufficient and successful club that can thrive both on and off the ice.

Beyond the team, the management in recent years have taken on the wider responsibilities of running the event business at Braehead Arena. It has been fantastic to see the growth around the Clan in recent, but we need success in both the Clan & Arena event business to secure the future.

We acknowledge that the recent changes in pricing and block allocation have been a noticeable adjustment for our fans. However, these decisions have been made with the future of the club in mind.
