NEWS: Morgan prepared for play-off “dogfight”

Aspray Glasgow West sponsored Glasgow Clan head coach Jason Morgan says his team are ready to get to work ahead of another challenging weekend in the hunt for the play-offs.

His team host Dundee Stars on Friday at Braehead Arena (face off 7:30pm) before a trip to Surrey to take on Guildford Flames on Saturday.

And Morgan has identified where he feels his players can succeed as they look for what would be four huge points at this stage of the season.

“We’re in for a complete dogfight in these last seven games, and the next two out of three against Dundee Stars are going to be huge,” he said.

“We need to find a way to stay in the mix starting on Friday, and the guys are ready for the challenge and know what a 60-minute performance can do for us.

“They have a very dynamic forward group that can, if you’re not managing the puck or being disciplined, they can capitalise on the powerplay so we have to stay out of the box.

“Our puck management must be on point, and defending like we did in Cardiff can give us a chance.

“We want to take care of business on Friday then take that mindset into the trip to Guildford on Saturday, a place we’ve struggled in this season.

“We want to right that trend, and they’re another skilful team who are without their number one goalie right now, but every game is up for grabs from the opening puck drop.

“But we have to go out and earn it, starting against Dundee on Friday.”
