NEWS: Morgan and his men set for approaching Storm

Aspray Glasgow West sponsored Glasgow Clan head coach Jason Morgan insists his team are up for the battle at the weekend ahead, but admits they’ll have to do it the hard way.

Manchester Storm come to Braehead Arena for the first of two games for the Clan this weekend on Saturday (face off 7:00pm), before hitting the road to take on Cardiff Devils on Sunday in South Wales.

But Morgan says it’s all focus on the Storm, who are within touching distance in the Elite League standings going into the weekend.

“It’s another massive weekend ahead, and I know the guys are up for the challenge with only four points separating us from Manchester before they play on Friday,” he said.

“They’re a really good team and we played well there last weekend, coming out on top in overtime.  It’s been four in a row now for us in overtime, and a lot of close games.

“We’re in control of our destiny and where we want to finish. If we bring our ‘A’ game from the opening puck drop throughout the 60 minutes, it gives us a chance to compete.

“Obviously, it’s a tough road game to play going to Cardiff on Sunday against a team with a lot of talent and depth.

“Our focus is solely on Manchester at this time, but the injury bug continues to be a revolving door for us, leaving us to face the adversity.

“We’re seeing guys coming back, but other guys going out, as well as guys going week to week so it’s the ‘next man up’ mentality for us.

“It’s opportunities for players to step up, fill a role and do a job, but I know everyone is ready for what lies ahead this weekend.”
