NEWS: Lacho keen to make Cardiff “statement”
Aspray Glasgow West sponsored Glasgow Clan forward Robert Lachowicz believes victory over Cardiff Devils in the Challenge Cup would make a statement.
Clan head to South Wales for the third time in a week to complete their quarter final tie, with Jason Morgan’s side behind 4-3 from the first leg last Wednesday.
And after going down 3-2 in overtime when they met in the league on Sunday, Lachowicz, who has won the competition a joint record seven times, is feeling positive.
“It was a good game on Sunday and we’re starting to put together full game performances now, but we were unlucky not to come away with the second point,” he said.
“I feel our games against Cardiff have come on a lot since the start of the season and it feels like we’re getting closer to beating them.
“It’s a one-goal game coming into the second leg of the cup and it’s a tough position to be in but we have to continue playing as we have been recently and hopefully it’s our turn to get the result.
“It would be a big statement win for us and a massive confidence boost to know we can turn over these teams that are usually around the top of the table away from home.
“I think we’re putting ourselves in contention and it’s going to be good moving forward. We’ll try to play the game we have been and it’ll be great if we can come out on top.”
