NEWS: Ice Plant delays postpone Belfast game

September 10, 2024

The Glasgow Clan would like to advise the Purple Army & visiting supporters that the Challenge Cup Group B game vs the Belfast Giants on Saturday 21st September has been postponed.

Braehead Arena & the club’s ownership has invested a seven figure sum in a new ice plant which is currently being installed and will be in use from December onwards.

Due to some unforeseen delays in progressing forward with that project during the summer, the Arena & club’s ownership has needed to invest further and install a temporary ice plant to allow the Clan to start our 2024/25 season. Transition from the temporary plant to the new permanent one will happen mid-season, without further interruption to the schedule, and secure the future of ice-events in the building.

In recent days it has come to light that ensuring ice will be down for our first scheduled home game can’t be guaranteed, so following discussions with the EIHL & Belfast the decision has been taken to postpone the game.

The new date for postponed game has been scheduled for Wednesday 13th November (7:30pm face-off).

Our first home game at Braehead Arena will take place on Saturday 28th September when the Cardiff Devils are the visitors in EIHL action. This game is covered by the 2024/25 season ticket. General sale tickets will be on sale in due course, we recommend to keep checking ClanIHC.com and Clan socials for further updates.

We apologise for any inconvenience this fixture change may have caused.
