NEWS: Hammond likely to be week to week with injury

Glasgow’s Braehead Clan have today received news back regarding Mike Hammond’s injury which he sustained during Saturday’s home game v the Sheffield Steelers.
Following an initial consultation, the news is that there is heavy swelling and bruising around the knee. Mike will be assessed week to week with the hope of getting him back in time for the playoffs.
The club have also taken the decision to refer Hammond to an private hospital for an MRI scan, to ensure there is no ligament damage.
Head Coach Ryan Finnerty commented: “Mike is a big loss to us heading into the playoffs, however it was positive to hear the it could just be heavy swelling and bruising.
“We’re sending Mike to get a scan just to see if we can see behind the swelling, just to make sure. Hopefully with rest and no further complications, Mike can be part of our playoff push”.
