NEWS: Glasgow Clan Ice Futures Charity
The Glasgow Clan are proud to announce the launch of The Glasgow Clan Ice Futures Charity.
Registered as a Scottish Charitable Incorporated Organisation (SCIO), the charity’s focus will be:
The advancement of participation in the sport of ice hockey and other ice based activities.
The promotion of the health benefits of exercise and good nutrition.
The provision of opportunities for all age groups in the community to engage in ice sports, or in other activities, that deliver physical and/or mental health benefits.
The provision of equipment and resources necessary to conduct the charitable activities.
Clan Managing Director Gareth Chalmers commented: “I am delighted we have been able to assist and facilitate the launch of The Glasgow Clan Ice Futures Charity, which the club will support as our official charity partner.
“We have had the ambition to make this a reality for a number of years now and are now in the right position to drive and support the initiative with the club’s wider aspirations in mind.
“The charity’s focus will be on the introduction and participation of ice hockey to everyone, promoting a healthy lifestyle via exercise and nutrition, providing all age groups with opportunities to take to the ice, supporting our community outreach programme with local schools and youth groups, while supporting our new Clan Academy setup as we look to develop the next generation of Clan players.
“I’d like to specifically thank Kevin McCoskrie for driving the project forward and making it a reality, while also thanking the board of trustees for their support and time commitment to supporting the club’s wish of supporting the launch of the new charity.”
The Glasgow Clan Ice Futures Charity is registered with The Scottish Charity Regulator (OSCR), registration number SCO53637.
