Glasgow’s Braehead Clan head coach Ryan Finnerty has said the Purple Army can be the difference this weekend against the Nottingham Panthers and the Cardiff Devils.

The Clan travel down to the Motorpoint Arena in Nottingham on Saturday, before returning to Glasgow on Sunday to face the league leading Devils at Braehead Arena (6:00pm face-off).

Finnerty’s outfit head into the two difficult games missing five players – Peacock (injury), Quast (injury), Cowick (suspension – returns Sunday v Cardiff), Haywood (personal reasons) and Esders (unavailable).

“We’re really up against it this weekend with the bodies we’ve got missing” confirmed Finnerty. “As a team we’ve got a lot of banged up bodies at the moment with a lot of guys playing injured.

“The two games, against two of the EIHL’s top teams, are difficult enough already without losing the amount of bodies that we have. We’re really up against it, but will be doing everything we can to come away with the wins.

“This is a time we really need the Purple Army to get behind us, they have been superb as ever this season. Their support on the road and at Braehead can make a massive difference, as the guys feed off their energy.”
