NEWS: Craighead out to show Clan pedigree

sponsored Glasgow Clan forward Darien Craighead says this weekend’s games with Coventry Blaze is another chance to show they are as good as any team in the Elite League.

Clan face the Blaze in a home and away double header, starting this Saturday at Braehead Arena (face off 7:00pm).

And Craighead, who scored what proved to be the winning goal in the quarter final tie with Cardiff Devils looked back on his winner and how they can take it into Saturday’s clash.

“I think a big win in a meaningful game like that can linger with a team,” he said. “We know we’re as good as any team in this league and it’s nice that we’re proving it.  Coventry will be another chance to do it again.

“In Cardiff, we knew going in it wasn’t going to be an easy road game, but good teams find a way to get it done.

“I thought we played one of our best defensive games of the year which we knew we needed to do considering the Challenge Cup format and situation.

“As for the goal, Reece Kelly made a really nice back door pass and I just tried to get my body and stick in that area. I’m glad I was able to do it and help get us that big win.”
