NEWS: Cowick receives one game ban from DOPS
NEXT HOME GAME: We’ve got a Christmas ‘Cracker’ coming up THIS FRIDAY (7:30pm face-off), when our big rivals the Fife Flyers come to Braehead Arena. Tickets are available NOW via TICKETMASTER, by calling 0844 499 1700 or direct at the Braehead Arena box office.
Braehead Clan forward Corey Cowick has been issued with a one game ban by the Elite League Department of Player Safety.
Cowick received a 2+10 penalty for checking to the head during last Sunday’s road game against the Fife Flyers. Having reviewed both the video footage and the referee’s report DOPS have upgraded this to a match penalty, which carries an automatic one game ban. DOPS has decided that there will be no additional suspension given to Cowick.
The Clan also requested that DOPS considered an incident involving Fife Flyers defenceman Phil Paquet during the same game. Having reviewed the referee’s report and the video evidence the Department of Player Safety has given Paquet a match penalty for checking to the head. This carries an automatic one game suspension, which will not be increased.
Cowick and Paquet will both miss THIS FRIDAY’s game at Braehead Arena.
