NEWS: Bolton departs following short stay with the Clan

November 29, 2022

The Glasgow Clan, sponsored by , can confirm the departure of American defenceman Jake Bolton with immediate effect.

Bolton was initially brought back to the UK as short-term injury reserve cover for Shawn Boutin with the club hoping that he would remain with the team until the end of the 2022/23 season.

However, following discussions with his family & employer back in the US, the 30-year-old defenceman is having to head home due to work commitments outside of hockey.

Clan associate coach Dyson Stevenson commented: “Jake brought a ton of energy to the team on and off the ice since he first arrived.

“He was certainly a big part of getting our team, that was really struggling, on the right path and heading in the right direction with three wins in a row.

“We knew before his arrival that this could possibly be a short term signing due to his work commitments.

“We did everything we could to keep Jake for the remainder of the season but we have to respect his decision that family and work came before hockey.”

The Clan wish to place on record our thanks to Jake for his contribution to the team and the door has very much been left open for a return in the future.
