NEWS: Aaron Murphy joins as Senior Advisor

The Glasgow Clan, sponsored by , are delighted to announce that Aaron Murphy is joining the club in the newly created role of Senior Advisor of Hockey & Broadcast Operations.

Aaron who is well known to hockey fans around the UK as the foremost play by play commentator of the Elite League for the past 10 years.

Michael O’Rourke principle of TDL Media commented: “We know Aaron well, having worked with him for 14 years when we owned Premier Sports and are delighted to be able to work with him again.

“He knows the culture and mentality we want to establish at the Clan and will be an important factor in driving that forward. Aaron’s knowledge of the game is unrivalled and he will be an undoubted asset for Jason and the wider organisation going into the new season”.

New Clan Head Coach & Head of Hockey Operations Jason Morgan was also happy about the latest hire.

“It’s always nice to have multiple outlets of hockey resources at your convenience as we move forward in this new direction.  I’m looking forward to working with Aaron.”

Aaron has been involved in EIHL coverage for over a decade as a professional broadcaster, and has extensive knowledge of the sport both domestically and internationally. He has also been a part of 3 Winter Olympic Hockey Tournaments, and 10 IIHF World Championships.

Aaron Murphy commented on his new role:

It was an easy decision to join the club, and I look forward to working with coach Jason Morgan, and all the Clan staff as we build for the future. The Clan has a fantastic fan base, great arena, great city, and the coming years will be a very exciting time for the Purple Army.”

Aaron will continue his role as play-by-play commentator on top level hockey events for Viaplay, while starting immediately with the Clan as we prepare for the 2023/24 season.
