Lachowicz Hits 1,000 EIHL Games Milestone
British forward Robert Lachowicz has reached an incredible career milestone, skating in his 1,000th Elite Ice Hockey League game — an achievement that cements his place among the league’s all-time greats.
Lachowicz becomes only the fourth player in EIHL history to reach the 1,000-game mark, joining an elite group that includes Matthew Myers, Jonathan Phillips, and Mark Richardson.
Having begun his EIHL career with the Nottingham Panthers, Lachowicz quickly became one of the league’s most consistent and reliable forwards. During his time in Nottingham, he lifted an impressive collection of silverware — one EIHL league title, seven Challenge Cups, and four Playoff Championships — and represented the Panthers in the Champions Hockey League, competing against some of Europe’s top clubs.
Following his long tenure with Nottingham, Lachowicz spent time with the Guildford Flames before joining the Glasgow Clan ahead of the 2023/24 season, where his experience and professionalism have continued to shine both on and off the ice.
Reflecting on the milestone after the Clan’s 3–2 victory over the Sheffield Steelers, Head Coach Corey Neilson expressed his admiration for Lachowicz’s remarkable career:
It’s very special for me. Robert was one of a group of players who came to Canada at a really young age when I was running hockey schools in the summer. He would come across and spend 10 weeks in Canada learning the fundamentals of hockey. To see his progression from the EPL to the EIHL, and to Team GB, it’s been a remarkable journey.
He has a great network of family, support and love behind him, and I couldn’t be more proud of him.
Everyone at the Glasgow Clan would like to congratulate Robert Lachowicz on reaching this incredible milestone — a testament to his dedication, longevity, and lasting impact on British ice hockey.
