Two goals from Josh Gratton helped to make it a good night for Glasgow Clan, who secured a 4-2 home win over Coventry Blaze.
Clan got the better start when Scott Tanski struck the post in the early stages of the game to test the Blaze.
But it was Scott Pitt with the opening goal after four minutes when he picked up a pass from Matt Beca, drove into the middle and finished off from close range.
The visitors pulled level on the powerplay when Kelin Ainsworth teed up Nicolai Bryhnisveen on the blue line, who blasted his shot into the net to equalise.
Blaze went ahead early in the second period when Justin Haché set up Ben Lake, who swept into the net at Joel Rumpel’s short side
Their lead didn’t last long as Clan were back on level terms three minutes later when a loose puck found its way to Vaclav Stupka, who sent his shot in at the far post.
Then, three seconds after Coventry’s Ross Venus took a seat in the penalty box, the lead returned to the home side on the powerplay.
Scott Pitt’s shot from the blue line got the final touch from Josh Gratton on the way and the home fans were celebrating again.
The lead was extended when Gratton poked it from close range after Pitt’s effort saw Brendan Connolly hit the post before Clan’s #22 duly applied the finish.
In the end, it was a good performance to follow on from Wednesday’s positive finish as Clan moved above Blaze into the seventh in the Elite League standings.
