It was a four-point weekend as Glasgow Clan followed up Saturday’s home overtime win over Coventry Blaze with a 4-2 success at the Skydome.

It was the first time Clan took all four points from a weekend since the start of October when Pete Russell’s men racked up back to back wins over Fife Flyers and Sheffield Steelers.

But this one against a team against whom they hadn’t won in their previous four meetings prior to the weekend will have pleased Russell and the team immensely.

However, it started on a disappointing note when Alex Nikiforuk got the opening goal with a thunderous slapshot that flew past Glasgow goalie Joel Rumpel after four minutes.

The Clan took advantage of an error by Blaze goalie Miika Wiikman that allowed Rasmus Bjerrum to capitalise and restore parity in terms of the scoreline.

Gerard Hanson put the visitors in front a few minutes later as they turned the game around in their favour.

Then Craig Peacock added a third on the powerplay as Blaze’s Ben Lake sat for an interference call to end the period 3-1 in favour of Glasgow Clan.

There were chances in the second period, but nothing to think Clan were in any danger of losing their lead as they took care of what Coventry threw at them.

Nerves were settled with just over three minutes to go as Scott Tanski finished off the fourth to open an unassailable lead and confirm the two road points.

And although Tim Crowder netted late on for the home side, the night belonged to Glasgow Clan to make it a great weekend for the Scottish side.
