The Glasgow Clan made it two wins out of two this weekend as they picked up both points on the road in a 4-2 win at Sheffield Steelers.

It was the Steelers’ first game since the departure of coach Paul Thompson earlier in the week, but Clan were in no mood to make interim replacement Mark Matheson’s night comfortable.

The visitors took the lead in the early stages when Craig Peacock brought the puck down to create an opportunity for himself as he slotted low past Steelers goalie Jackson Whistle.

Clan’s second goal was the Pitts a few minutes later when Sheffield’s Josh Pitt lost control of the puck in his own zone, from which Scott Pitt duly punished to double the lead.

Steelers got one back before the end of the first as Chris Lawrence tapped in and the home side reduced the deficit.

Another from Peacock restored Glasgow’s two-goal lead on the powerplay as Pete Russell’s men strengthened their grip on the game.

Steelers hit back almost immediately through Josh McFadden and the game was finely poised going into the third period.

As time ticked down, Sheffield went for broke as they pulled Whistle, but Clan made sure of the points as Scott Tanski fired on the empty net to complete a good win.
