GAME DAY: What’s going on around Braehead Arena THIS FRIDAY

September 15, 2023

The long, long summer is over and as the nights start to draw in, it also means the return of Glasgow Clan, sponsored by Aspray Glasgow West and the much missed ice hockey action.

We’re still in pre-season mode so there’s still some tweaks and little amendments as we get ready to welcome the Purple Army back for the first time since April.

But 2023/24 starts here as a new era gets underway at the club and it’s absolutely great to be back.

Remember, tickets remain available online so make sure you get yours while you can.  Face off at 7:30pm, with doors opening at 6:00pm.

Giants opposition for the “massive” Clan

Like the final game of last season, it’s the Belfast Giants who will be the opponents for tonight’s pre-season affair and a chance to see the make up of this Clan team.

Adam Keefe’s men were all-conquering last season, winning all three domestic cups to complete some kind of Grand Slam.

However, 11 of those players have since moved and Giants, with one in six in all games so far in the new campaign, will look for victory ahead of the Challenge Cup games.

Introducing…Jason Morgan

…and Jeff Battah and Jake Kielly and Mike Pelech and all the new faces who signed for the club in the summer so make sure everyone gets an unbelievably warm Purple Army welcome.

They’ve heard a lot of good things about it so let’s not disappoint them when they make their first appearance here.

Box Office Open

The Braehead Arena box office is open between 3pm and 7:30pm and we’re there to accommodate game day buyers due to the cost of living crisis.

However, where possible, fans are asked to continue to purchase tickets online in advance, but any sales at the box office will be at the same price as online sales.

Figure Skating for you today

Tonight’s skater is 13 year old Naomi Ogbu, from East Kilbride Figure Skating Club.

Naomi is currently ranked ninth in Great Britain and is sponsored by Australian skating clothing company Frozen Couture.

She’s looking forward to competing at the British Championships for the third time next month.

Naomi loves to compete – but also loves to showcase her talent in some fun routines whenever she comes to perform at the Clan.
