The Premier Sports sponsored Glasgow Clan were downed in a shootout as they went beyond regulation for the second straight night against the Manchester Storm.

Tyler Hinam, who had a hatrick in 12 minutes the last time Clan came to Altrincham, was denied in the opening minutes by some defensive heroics as a sea of white jerseys flooded the crease to sweep his backdoor effort off the goal line.

Rob Lachowicz was denied at the other end on a breakaway by a good low stop by Drew Derrider before Tristin Langan continued his hot form from last night with the opening goal straight off an o-zone faceoff win.

Just like Langan carried over his form from last night, so too did the aggression as Rylan Schwartz traded jabs with Joseph Nardi while celebrating Langan’s opener before Mick Messner and J.D. Dudek were sent to the box for roughing soon after.

Hinam was denied by the iron work after a smart deke past Liam Souliere to start the second before Nardi forced the hosts back level with a flicked backhand from distance which snuck through traffic and into the net.

Returning from injury, Darien Kielb made his impact by dropping off a neat pass to Brady Risk who slinged a high shot past Derrider to reinstate Glasgow’s advantage late in the period.

Hinam was denied again by Souliere on a shorthanded breakaway before Kaleb Ergang levelled the tie with a powerplay goal just three seconds before the end of the period.

The third period was a fairly non-event 20 minutes of hockey with both teams relying 0n their goaltenders and special teams to keep them afloat amidst a slew of penalties either side of the puck.

After being forced beyond regulation at two apiece, neither side found a decider in overtime, nor in the first five rounds of the shootout with Loren Ulett eventually grabbing the PSO winner for the Storm in sudden death.

The result means both teams walk away from the weekend with equal winnings with both having won after regulation on home ice and gaining three league points each over two games.
