The Premier Sports Glasgow Clan defeated the Sheffield Steelers for the second time in league play this season with a high-intensity overtime winner.

Sheffield custodian, Robert Dowd got the game going with a quick snap from the left circle as the Steelers applied early pressure to Sami Aittokallio and the Clan defence.

Deven Sideroff pulled off a nice move in the neutral zone to skip past Evan Jasper and set himself up for a shot on net but Matthew Greenfield swallowed it up.

The early pressure didn’t take long to bare results as Samuel Tremblay released a shot that sailed high into the Glasgow net to give the visitors the first lead of the game.

The Clan levelled it before the end of the period though as Miihkali Teppo arrived late to an offensive play and cannoned a loose puck which nestled high into the corner.

In the second period, Cade Neilson set up a glorious chance for Brett Neumann with an impressive cross-ice backhanded pass but the #63’s shot went north of the Sheffield net.

Mitch Heard then set up Mitch Balmas in the slot for a free chance on net but Aittokallio stood tall to send his effort wide.

Sideroff used his stick skills to generate a number of chances for Glasgow but Greenfield refused to let up in the second period as the middle frame ended goalless.

Neumann got the Clan off to a hot start in the third period when he finished off Brayden Burke’s pass with a first time finish to put the Clan in front for the first time in the game.

Dowd then struck the bar and post with the same shot straight after as he burst up ice and released a wicked shot from deep in the slot.

Derek Gentile got the Steelers back level late in the game as the puck bobbled around the Clan net before eventually bouncing to the #77 who dispatched with a backhanded finish.

The game was forced to overtime by Gentile’s equaliser where Jordon Southorn had the game on his stick with a breakaway for Sheffield but Aittokallio did superb to cut off his chance.,

Rylan Schwartz was then denied by some goaltending brilliance from Greenfield shortly before Jason Fram ended the night and claimed the second point for Glasgow with an electrifying overtime winner inside Braehead.
