The Premier Sports sponsored Glasgow Clan were left feeling hard done by after a penalty shootout loss after a wild game of momentum against the Nottingham Panthers.
Mitch Fossier was welcomed back to the Panthers lines after being side-lined for two months by injury while other key talents sat out with the visitors only icing three full lines.
The Clan had identical numbers though with four players out injured, including captain Deven Sideroff after he took a shot up high against Nottingham last week, and Austin Mitchell-King on international duty with Team GB.

Glasgow got off to a great start with Jason Fram slamming a blue line shot at Kevin Carr on the powerplay which the netminder kicked straight into the path of former-Panther Felix Pare to sweep home the opening goal of the game.
Momentum swayed throughout the first period with the Clan having to be rescued by a diving block by Colton Poolman to cut off Brendan Harris’ late dash to the backdoor.
Liam Souliere and Kevin Carr had outstanding opening periods at either end of the ice with the game poised at a one-goal gap into the second period despite heavy waves of offensive pressure from both teams.

Nolan Volcan managed to level the tie in the second period with some elite trickery as he tucked the puck through his own legs with his back to net and squeaked it through the legs of Joe Hazeldine and then Liam Souliere.
Brett Neumann didn’t allow the Panthers to be level for long though as he made a swashbuckling run up left wing and dispatched a tidy shot up high to reinstate the Clan lead.
The third period saw the game blow wide open with a David Noel piledriver powerplay goal just 45 seconds in before Langan scored a third for Glasgow 12 seconds later.

Oliver Betteridge tied the game up with a neat finish past Souliere’s flailing catcher glove as the Glasgow netminder was beaten in a rare occasion on a night where he shone.
The game was forced to overtime with Neumann being denied on a sharp-angle shot before Chase Pearson fizzed a shot just wide in the final minute of regulation.
Bryan Lemos battled the puck to the slot in the Clan zone before it bounced off Fram’s skate and had to be kicked off the line by Souliere in the closest call of the extra period as the game was sent to a penalty shootout.
Carr continued to prove his worth in the Nottingham net denying all five Glasgow penalty shots while the returning Fossier sent the second Panthers attempt into the net to secure two road points for the third place side.
