The Premier Sports Glasgow Clan were left frustrated after a strong showing from the Manchester Storm saw the Clan fail to score in their second league loss of the season.

Harrison Caines got the first chance of the game when he teed up a slapshot from the left circle that Sami Aittokallio had to be quick to kick his pad out to.

Brayden Burke, Tristin Langan, and Deven Sideroff were in flow state later in the period as their sustained pressure turned into a carousel of shots with each of them rifling the puck on net, but to no avail.

Hugo Roy was then denied by Drew Derrider’s catcher when he burst past the Storm defence and cannoned a shot on net.

Derrider was then caught with Clan forward, Richard Jarusek as he knocked a first time shot on net from the backdoor but it bundled into the goalie’s equipment and stayed out.

A turnover behind the Clan net allowed J.D. Dudek in on net from right in front and he trickled a shot past Aitokallion and over the line which had to be confirmed via a quick review by officials.

In the second period, Burke picked up a loose puck and dragged out wide to flick a backhanded shot towards goal but it was denied by a masterful save from Derrider.

Langan later burst in on a breakaway when the stick of a Storm defenceman broke at the blue line allowing the #23 in all alone, but he couldn’t convert.

Derrider was the star of the second period as he frustrated the Clan all period long with his shot total climbed to 30 after just 40 minutes.

Former Clan star, Gary Haden doubled the Storm’s lead in the third period as he sniped a shot from the right side that zipped past Aittokallio before he even knew it left Haden’s blade.

Stephen Johnson’s deflection at the post trickled along the line but stayed out on the powerplay before Kaleb Ergang did deliver a third goal for the visitors on the same powerplay.

Derrider was the centre of attention again towards the end of the game as he cut out Jarusek with an elite save before stopping Sideroff and Neumann on later attempts.

Loren Ulett then rounded off the night with an empty net goal to seal a 4-0 road win for the Storm at Braehead.
