GAME RECAP

Glasgow Clan bagged an emphatic win over Scottish rivals, Fife Flyers in a 9-4 romp at Braehead Arena.

Darien Kielb got the goal show started early as he ripped a wrist shot from the left dot and sniped it top corner within two minutes from puck drop.

Chris McKay doubled Glasgow’s lead shortly after as he finished off a slick passing move between himself and Deven Sideroff by rebounding the captain’s shot past Janis Voris.

Sideroff then got a goal of his own as he gorgeously slipped through the Flyers’ defence and Voris to send home a third Clan goal in just eight minutes.

Voris was then replaced in the Fife net by Shane Owen who was warmly welcomed to the game by Mitchell Heard as he sent home a fourth Clan goal before the 10-minute mark.

Keaton Jameson was then penalised for two-minutes for boarding, but that didn’t slow the Clan down as Sideroff scored his second of the game on a shorthanded breakaway.

The Flyers pegged one back on the hosts through Kieran Craig on the powerplay before Liam Finlay reinstated the Clan’s five-goal advantage with a sharp angle wrist shot.

In the second period, Matt Berry added a seventh goal to the tally when Matt Stief set him up for a simple first-time finish at the backdoor.

Kielb then grabbed his second goal of the game as he launched the puck from the blue line and it snuck through the pads of Owen before Phelix Martineau scored a second Flyers goal.

In the third period, Finlay scored his second of the game and claimed a ninth Clan goal with a high-powered shot into the roof of the net.

The Flyers scored two unanswered goals through Craig and Martineau before the end of the game while Berry narrowly missed out on a tenth Clan goal when his penalty shot was denied by Owen, but it was a job well done as Glasgow ran out comfortable winners.
