The Premier Sports sponsored Glasgow Clan compounded the Dundee Stars in a sound victory to secure back-to-back home shutouts as the playoffs near.

Griffin Luce handed the Clan their first chance of the game as he gave away the puck in front of his own crease to Brady Risk but Emil Kruse was quick to react in the moment to steer his shot wide.

Rylan Schwartz then made a hit in the corner to sputter the puck to Tristin Langan who played a quick backhand to Brett Neumann out in front but Kruse made a great blocker save on his shot attempt.

Sami Aittokallio was forced to make his first save of the game by Jackson Desouza later in the period as the Stars forward rifled a shot from the right side which the Finnish netminder had to stretch to blocker away.

Chris McKay was hungry for a goal against his former side from the offset but turned provider as he played a pass through the slot to Langan who stretched in front of the Dundee defence to poke the opening goal into the net.

Risk doubled Glasgow’s advantage before the first break as Brayden Burke picked him out in the slot and the #9’s release was deadly into the top shelf.

The Clan were forced to kill off two penalties in the first seven minutes of the second period as Joe Hazeldine was called for a trip before the hosts were handed a bench minor for too many men on the ice.

Cade Neilson dumped a shot in from the right wing wall looking for a rebound later in the frame and his shot bounced out to Hugo Roy with a great look at net but two defencemen got back for the Stars to cover the blue paint and keep it out.

A no look pass from Hazeldine to the left wing set up a great shot for Neumann out wide on the left but his first time shot was denied by a ridiculous diving stick stop from Kruse.

Mick Messner then struck the post just moments later as he tipped McKay’s shot through his own legs before being hit through the numbers in the corner by Luce which put Glasgow onto their first powerplay of the game.

The Clan didn’t capitalise with the extra skater but were later handed a gift as Craig Moore was caught out in his own zone and gave up possession to Neumann who instantly dashed at Kruse to slide home the third Glasgow goal in the game.

An awkward bounce off the backwall left Aittokallio stranded as the puck rolled out to the slot with the goaltender behind his own and granted Spencer Naas a look at an empty net. But Alex Forbes stepped up on the backcheck by sliding through the crease to jump on the puck and hold on for the whistle in an unreal display of sacrifice.

Neumann then bagged his second of the game just a few minutes later with a first time shot from the backdoor as Glasgow heard the final buzzer at Braehead for the penultimate time in the regular season with nine goals scored in their last two home games and none conceded.
