Glasgow Clan vs Coventry Blaze (Incl Highlights)

The premier sports sponsored Glasgow Clan were beaten in regulation in the first game of 2o26 by an impressive road performance Kevin Moore’s Coventry Blaze.

Daniel Tedesco kickstarted a nice play for Glasgow with a slip pass to Brady Risk who traded the puck with Deven Sideroff before snapping a shot that was saved by the quick catcher of Mat Robson.

Tristin Langan was then denied on a breakaway by a last ditch poke check from Archie Hazeldine before Grayson Constable got on a breakaway of his own and was denied only by the post on a low wrist shot.

Coventry found a breakthrough shortly after though as Miihkali Teppo was called for an infraction and the visitors got an extra man on the ice during the delayed penalty, allowing Elijiah Barriga to pick his spot and send home the opener.

Jordan Power quickly doubled the Blaze’s lead with a perfect slapshot from the right dot which beat Sami Aittokallio’s catcher and rung round the net.

Clan captain, Deven Sideroff did respond for the Clan before the end of the period as he rebounded Rylan Schwartz’ close-range redirect on a long-range drive from Steven Seigo to sweep the puck past Robson and halve Glasgow’s deficit.

In his first game back from injury, Felix Pare was denied on a backdoor first time shot by a brilliant save from Mat Robson in the second period.

Constable then opened up space through the slot with a mazy dash from the left wing boards before he rifled a shot on net which was tipped over the glass by Aittokallio’s blocker.

Sideroff was denied by the post near the end of a scoreless second period as the Blaze took full control going into the final third with a powerplay goal from Grayson Constable.

Ivan Chukarov rounded off the night with an empty net goal as the Blaze took all the points with a home tie against the Belfast Giants tomorrow while the Clan will have to travel to the in-form Nottingham Panthers.
