The Premier Sports sponsored Glasgow Clan were beaten for a second straight time against the Belfast Giants as they round off 2025 with a home defeat.

The Giants started the game strong with Nicholas Guay and former NHLer Carsen Twarynski getting shots on net to force Clan netminder, Sami Aittokallio into early action.

The Clan were slow off the mark, only managing three shots on net in the opening period with the best of the lot coming from Rob Lachowicz as he bombed a shot from the left wing boards which Jackson Whistle gloved down.

Similar to last night, Ryan Smith scored the opening goal of the game before the end of the period as he snapped a shot from the right circle through a very tight lane to slip past Joe Hazeldine and Aittokallio and into the net.

The second period saw Glasgow get back into the game with Richard Jarusek charging up ice and firing a shot into the logo of Whistle before Daniel Tedesco narrowly missed a rebound to tie things up.

Rylan Schwartz was caught in controversy shortly after as he went down from a hit by Patrick Grasso before taking a stick up high and getting a call from the officials for neither of them.

Schwartz aired his anger on the Clan bench and threw a glove on the ice which drew an unsportsmanlike conduct penalty, which he couldn’t sit because he was bleeding from the high stick.

Clan escaped the penalty kill but were punished shortly after as Reid Irwin doubled the Giants’ lead with a snipe from the slot deep into the middle period.

In the third period Schwartz returned to the action and, along side Hugo Roy, helped generate a number of offensive chances with Deven Sideroff just sending wide a backdoor shot off the feed from the #71.

Schwartz had his redemption in the end though as he got on the end of Fram’s shot from distance and batted home a rebound to put Glasgow back to within one late in the day.

Despite pulling Aittokallio for the extra skater, the Clan couldn’t find an equaliser with Brady Risk and Colton Poolman denied by Whistle in the closing minutes as the Giants rounded off four-points in two days over Glasgow.
