The Premier Sports sponsored Glasgow Clan picked up two valuable points in a piledriving win on the road over the Dundee Stars in a punctual return to success after a difficult stretch.

Liam Souliere got his second start in Clan colours after a difficult debut on the road in Manchester in a 5-1 loss while the Stars only iced 15 players due to a backlog of injuries.

Dundee were quick on the attack from the opening faceoff with Kameron Kielly leading them into the Ozone before losing possession to Colton Poolman who sent Brayden Burke on a breakaway but his shot was tipped wide by the catcher of Emil Kruse.

The Stars opened the scoring after just two minutes with Bradley Schoonbaert recieving a pass from behind the net just in front of the crease and popping a first-time shot high over Souliere.

Glasgow responded quickly though with Felix Pare hooking a pass from behind the net to Alex Forbes who slipped a neat shot through the five-hole of Kruse which had to be confirmed after a video review.

Clan captain, Deven Sideroff then gave his side the lead with a goal on the powerplay as Daniel Tedesco’s shot fizzed wide of the target but bounced kindly off the backwall to the #95’s stick for him to sweep it home.

Joe Hazeldine doubled the visitor’s advantage before the end of the period as he followed Sideroff’s shot to net and sent the rebound over the line.

Chris McKay rounded the net in the second period before dishing it to Hazeldine at the blue line who’s long-range shot was tipped up high by Hugo Roy to redirect it past the flailing catcher of Kruse.

Kruse then denied Steven Seigo on a quick first time shot with a great blocker save up high before Brady Risk made it 5-1 to Glasgow with a snapped shot straight off a faceoff win in the offensive zone.

One of Dundee’s latest signings, Zachary Taylor came close as he parked in front of the crease and fanned on a backdoor tap in before controlling a saucer pass to his feet in the slot but Souliere burst off his line to poke the puck clear before he could get a shot off.

The game got scrappy afterwards as Dundee started to vent their frustration with the Clan in firm control with Rylan Schwartz getting the brunt of it after he was shoved into Kruse’s crease and dealt a few blows by Kris Inglis.

Ben Almquist then had a poke at Souliere’s catcher after the whistle a few moments later which drew a crowd as McKay and Pare kickstarted a minor brawl around the net but no gloves were dropped.

A quick stretch pass through the zones from Tedesco allowed Rob Lachowicz in on a breakaway with two minutes to go and the seasoned veteran coolly dispatched a sixth goal for Glasgow to seal the points and a rampant victory for the team in purple.
