The Premier Sports Glasgow Clan grabbed their third straight 3-2 victory after regulation with a dramatic claiming of the extra point in a shootout against the Cardiff Devils.

Clan captain, Deven Sideroff got the game off to a hot start when he ripped a shot from the left circle that forced an early save from Ben Bowns before Ryan Barrow tipped a shot low into Sami Aitokallio’s pads at the other end.

Ben Davies got the opener for the Devils early in the first period as he picked up the puck on a deflection by Mark Richardson and ricocheted it into the Clan net.

Sideroff snapped a shot from a sharp angle that crept past Bowns to level the scoring but Josh MacDonald responded within 53 seconds to reinstate Cardiff’s lead.

After returning to their dressing rooms with the Devils ahead by one, both teams emerged to the ice where Sideroff was injured in a collision into the post after a hook by Brandon Estes and forced out of the game.

Tristin Langan later equalised for the Clan with a late tip on a Steven Seigo shot to deflect the puck into the crease where the #23 swept home the leveller.

Aittokallio did well to keep the Devils at bay for the remainder of the second period and into the third as the game was forced to overtime at two goals apiece.

Strong netminding performances in the five minutes of three-on-three overtime period saw the sides forced to a shootout, where Brett Neumann was the only goal scorer as the Clan left the Vindico Arena with two points in tow.
