Clan Climb to Fourth After Strong Weekend – Big Tests Ahead
It was a mixed but ultimately positive weekend for the Glasgow Clan, who picked up three points from two games and moved up to fourth place in the Elite Ice Hockey League standings. The action began on Friday 21st November at Braehead Arena, where the Clan pushed the Guildford Flames to overtime. Goals from captain Deven Sideroff and Alex Forbes kept the hosts in the contest, but a sudden-death finish from Charlie Curti saw the Flames take the extra point.
The Clan bounced back in emphatic fashion on Saturday night with a 5–2 win on the road against the Fife Flyers. A feisty encounter at Fife Ice Arena saw five different goal scorers — Jarusek, Fram, Kielb, Neumann and Langan — find the net, securing a deserved victory for Corey Neilson’s side. With Sheffield shutting out Manchester the following day, results around the league worked in Glasgow’s favour, lifting the Clan into the top four as the festive period approaches.
Looking ahead, the Clan face a challenging double-header this weekend. On Friday 28th November, the team travels south to the Motorpoint Arena to take on league leaders the Nottingham Panthers — a key test against one of the EIHL’s most in-form sides. The team then returns to Braehead Arena on Saturday 29th November for a crucial home clash with the Belfast Giants, where the aim will be nothing short of a four-point weekend to continue their upward momentum in the standings.
Saturday’s home game is already proving to be one of the hottest tickets of the season, with fewer than 250 seats remaining. Fans are encouraged to secure their tickets early as the Clan look to build on their recent form and keep climbing the league table.
