BLOG: Festive Greetings, 50/50, Xmas jerseys & more…
Hi Purple Army,
I hope everyone continues to stay safe and well during these testing times.
Firstly can I take this opportunity to wish every single one of you a very Merry Christmas, do what you can to relax, enjoy, reflect and connect with loved one’s during this festive period. 2020 has very much been a year we will all want to forget quickly, let’s all stay positive, show support for each other and focus on enjoying this time.
The past 9 months have been an incredibly testing period for the club, we’ve had to very quickly adapt to the ever developing situation around us. I am immensely proud of how we’ve reacted to the situation as a club. We continue to be one of the most proactive, innovative and resilient sporting clubs around.
As you may have seen, we recently launched our bumper Christmas 50/50 draw which takes place this Saturday (26th December) at 9pm. Tickets sales are already strong, with the prize pot already nearing £500! The premature end to the 2019/20 season + the suspension of the 2020/21 season had a substantial financial impact on our club and we’ve had to be inventive in keeping our heads above water. Revenue such as our Christmas 50/50 draw have been invaluable to the club, if you can afford it during what is already an expensive time of year, tickets are available for £1 each HERE! Remember, the more YOU buy, the higher the prize!
Over the past few weeks we also launched our fantastic limited edition Christmas jerseys, in partnership with Cross Check Clothing. Only 20 of these festive one-off jerseys have been made available, which are available to bid on via our official eBay store HERE! The deadline for submitting your bids is this Sunday (27th December). Again, I appreciate it’s already a very expensive time of the year, but every single penny helps the club through an unprecedented period.
Two weeks ago, we continued a Clan Christmas tradition with our annual Air the Bear night. While we all couldn’t regrettably enjoy the experience at Braehead Arena, for the first time ever, we held a virtual Air the Bear in conjunction with our Clan Classics online stream vs the Coventry Blaze, in support of Glasgow Children’s Hospital Charity & Ronald McDonald House, Glasgow. Both charities have asked me to pass on their thanks to the Purple Army, with nearly £500 raised for two very worthy causes. Thank you!
I can’t thank everyone enough for their support of our 50/50 draws, Shirt off the Back draws, Purple Army Raffle draws, eBay Auctions and online shop purchases. Thank you very much for everyone who continues to support in any way possible.
There is a lot going on behind the scenes at the club presently, which I’ll be able to touch on during my Hogmanay blog.
Merry Christmas to our outstanding Clan Crew, OSC, sponsors & Purple Army!
Thanks for your continued support!
