Clan Strengthen Blue Line with Finnish Defenceman Miihkali Teppo

The Glasgow Clan are delighted to announce the signing of Finnish defenceman Miihkali Teppo for the 2025/26 Elite Ice Hockey League season.

Standing at 6’2”, the 32-year-old brings a strong, physical presence to the Clan’s blue line. A true stay-at-home defenceman, Teppo is known for his ability to protect his net, block shots, and shut down opposition attacks.

Teppo comes to Glasgow with a wealth of European experience, having spent the majority of his career in Finland’s Liiga with HIFK Helsinki, as well as a spell in Norway’s EHL, where he iced for Sparta Sarpsborg. His background at the top levels of European hockey makes him a valuable addition to the Clan roster.

Head Coach Corey Neilson is excited to have Teppo on board:

Miihkali is a real defender. A true defensive defenceman who kills penalties, skates well, and takes pride in keeping the puck out of his net. He’s projected to be on the ice in all key defensive moments and is also a good friend of Sami, which will help him settle in quickly.

I talked with coach Corey about the team and there was a good role for me, the team looks good and the city is amazing from what I have heard. Really excited to go there. I talked with a few people who have played in the league and all said great things about the team. I hope I can bring defensive help and knowledge to the team.

Teppo will wear #43 and aim to join his teammates as the Clan begin their pre-season schedule at home against the Herlev Eagles on Friday 22nd August.
