NEWS: Experienced D-man Siego confirms Clan return

The Glasgow Clan can announce that defenceman Steven Seigo will return to the club next season after agreeing an extension to his contract.
The 34-year-old has been a big presence at the back for the team this season, often a calming presence in the defensive lines, putting in big minutes throughout the season.
And Seigo, who arrived after two years with DEL2 outfit Kassel Huskies, says the opportunity to stay on in Glasgow was too good to turn down.
“I’m delighted to be coming back for a second season and when the opportunity to return was put to me, I had no hesitation in saying yes,” he said.
“I’ve really enjoyed living and working in Glasgow this season and it has surpassed so many expectations on and off the ice.
“The season itself has been a challenging one at times, but really enjoyable and the standard of the Elite League is a lot higher than people realise.
“This campaign was just the start and I can’t wait to return for 2025/26 where we can kick in and aim high in what we want to achieve.”
Seigo made 61 appearances in purple and as well as scoring eight goals, he weighed in with a further 34 assists to reach 42 points this season so far.

His career has taken him all over, having played in North America, Latvia, Sweden, Finland and Germany before coming to Scotland.
Head coach Corey Neilson spoke about Seigo’s return and the impact he has on the team on and off the ice.
“Steven has been a steady presence in the defensive lines and not only does he read the game well, but he also contributes offensively, “ he said.
“He has plenty of experience which is beneficial to us in the big moments and he’s well respected in the locker room as part of the leadership group.
“It was important to me to bring Steven back for those qualities I’ve mentioned and I see him continuing to play a big role as we look towards next season.
“Steven is an absolute warrior. He never complains and is tough as nails so I’m delighted to have him back and look forward to seeing more of what he can do.”
Seigo will continue to wear the #49 jersey in 2025/26.
