SIGNING: Clan hand two-way deal to goalie McGowan

The Glasgow Clan are delighted to announce the signing of netminder Daniel McGowan on a two-way deal from Paisley Pirates.

The Glasgow-born teenager made 12 appearances for the Pirates in the SNL last season after starting his season in North America with Atlantic Coast Academy’s Under 18 AAA team.

He also made seven appearances with Lightning Pirates in the Under 19 which led to his chance in the SNL, impressing between the pipes.

Clan head coach and Head of Hockey Operations Corey Neilson welcomed the young goalie to the club.

“I’ve heard a lot about Daniel and the promise he’s shown with the Pirates last season so I was glad to be able to bring him on board,” he said.

“Although he’s only 17, he has a lot to learn as he looks to develop in the game and I think having him work with Landon Bow and Lucas Brine can only benefit him.

“I’m looking forward to seeing more of him in the season and I want to thank Ian Turley, Adam Walker and the team at Paisley for their support and assistance.”

McGowan will wear the #39 jersey for the Clan in the new season.
