SIGNING: Desrocher arrives to bolster Clan defence

Aspray Glasgow West sponsored Glasgow Clan are delighted to confirm the signing of Canadian defenceman Stephen Desrocher.
The 28-year-old returns to the Elite League after leaving Fife Flyers, where he spent the first half of the season.
And Desrocher is excited to be returning to action in the UK almost straight away after agreeing to terms to join Jason Morgan’s side.
“I’m very excited to be joining the Clan and proud to have signed to a first-class organisation with great fans,” he said.
“I’m looking forward to meeting my team-mates and having a great end to the season with my new club.
“I enjoyed my time in Fife with the Flyers, but it’s time for a new chapter in my career and I’m happy to be in Glasgow.
“It’s going to be a great couple of months and I can’t wait to get that Clan jersey on for the first time.”
Desrocher made 26 appearances in all competitions for Fife earlier this season, scoring one goal and picking up six assists – including one against the Clan – during his time in Kirkcaldy.
He joined them in the summer from Italian side HC Merano, who play in the Alps Hockey League and prior to that, was a Kelly Cup winner with Florida Everblades in the ECHL in 2021/22.
Desrocher was also a sixth round NHL draft pick with the Toronto Maple Leafs back in 2015, before establishing his career in USports, with University of Western Ontario.

Clan head coach Jason Morgan welcomed his new signing and says he’s a player that will be a welcome addition to the defensive ranks.
“We’re delighted to be able to add Stephen to our roster and he’s a player that brings size, character, as well as leadership to our D-core,” he said.
“He’s someone who plays a strong defensive game and he’s been a winner before, having played on multiple championship teams in the past, plus he gives us more depth to our back end.
“We welcome him to the Clan family and I’m looking forward to working with him.”
Desrocher will wear the #24 jersey.
