NEWS: Clan announce goalie roster change

February 4, 2024

Glasgow Clan, sponsored by Aspray Glasgow West, are delighted to announce the signing of netminder Kevin Lindskoug.

The 31-year-old remains in Scotland following his release from Fife Flyers, where he served a short spell as injury cover for their regular netminder, Shane Owen.

He is focussed on continuing his career in the Elite League where he has impressed in the past with solid performances for Fife and with Guildford Flames, with whom he played with two seasons ago.

“I am very happy to have the opportunity to come to Glasgow and stay in the Elite League, which is a great league to play in,” he said.

“When the call came, I was more than happy to sign for the team.  They have a great arena and the fans are great to play in front of.

“Everyone knows about the Purple Army so I’m looking forward to arriving and getting to work as the season gets into the final few weeks.

“Plus I’m looking forward to reuniting with Jake Bolton, Jordan Cownie and Robert Lachowicz, who I know well from my time in Guildford.

“There’s plenty to play for and I want to thank the Clan for the chance to come in and play for them.”

Lindskoug made seven appearances for Fife throughout January as cover for Owen, coming up with a save percentage of 91.07% in his brief spell in Kirkcaldy.

He spent the 2021/22 season with Guildford where he played 63 times in all competitions, regularly getting over 90% save percentage and recorded four shutouts.

Head coach Jason Morgan spoke of his new signing as he freshened up his roster for final couple of months of the season.

“I’m very happy to welcome Kevin to the Clan family and he’s a player that gives us some experience of this league between the pipes;” he said.

“He’s fresh from a short spell helping out in Fife so he comes here ready to go and prepared for the games ahead.

“He already knows some of the guys on the team and they spoke very highly of him and what he will bring.

“We’re pleased to have him on board and Jeff Battah and I are looking forward to working with him.”

Lindskoug will wear the #37 jersey for the remainder of the season.

The new arrival means that #1 Jake Kielly has been now released with immediate effect.

Kielly made 24 appearances for the Clan in his time and the club would like to place on record their thanks to Jake for his contribution to the team and wish him all the very best for the future.

The club would also like to thank Paisley Autocare for their sponsorship of Jake during his time at the club and have kindly agreed to take on sponsorship for Kevin.
