THE WEEK AHEAD: The end of the (regular season) road
Everything is still up in the air as Aspray Glasgow West sponsored Glasgow Clan enter the final week of the regular season still looking to nail down that final play-off spot.
With the last game to come this weekend, it could be an emotional week and everyone hopes the current campaign is extended by another week – but it could be a journey to get there.
Before we tell you what’s going on, we’ll bring you up to speed with what’s been happening in the last few days:
WEDNESDAY
The 2023 GCA Awards (7pm for a 7.30pm start)
It’s time to don the suits, get on your glad rags and get together at The Crowne Plaza on the banks of the River Clyde to see out the season in style.
We’re marking the end of a long season with a night of awards and fun in the ultimate Clan social event of the year.
Who will be the MVP of the Season, OSC Player of the Season and Unsung Heroes, both on and off the ice? All will be revealed on Wednesday night. Tickets are still available from the link below.
SATURDAY
Sheffield Steelers vs Glasgow Clan (Viaplay Elite League, face off 7pm)
So it all comes down to this! The 54-game campaign ends with a tricky trip to Sheffield Steelers with Clan still looking to nail down that final play-off spot.
Victory in Yorkshire will do the job certainly, but if it doesn’t and Fife win in Dundee, we could be chewing fingernails on Sunday when the Flyers go to Guildford.
Let’s hope it doesn’t come to that as Stephen, Dyson and the boys look to finish the regular season with a flourish and get the team over the line.
