August 10, 2017

UPCOMING HOME GAMES: It’s an exciting start to the 2017/18 season with the German DEL2 Champions, Löwen Frankfurt visiting Glasgow on Saturday 26th and Sunday 27th August. Tickets are available NOW via TICKETMASTER, by calling 0844 499 1700 or direct at the Braehead Arena box office.

Glasgow’s Braehead Clan head coach John Tripp says now that he’s arrived in Scotland, it’s game on!

The new season is just a matter of weeks away, with Clan hosting German side Löwen Frankfurt at the end of the month in their first action of the new campaign.

Tripp is looking forward to welcoming the players that will make up the team for 2017/18, who will arrive in Glasgow over the next few days.

“It’s nice to be here and I’m enjoying the city, the facility and it looks even better now that it’s sunny,” Tripp told Clan Radio.

“Now that I have arrived here, it’s like ‘game on’. There’s still a lot of stuff to do and it’s great to get the work in and everything organised to get things going.

“Guys are starting to come in later this week and I’ve learned quite a lot about visas and things in the UK and it takes some time, but we’re hoping to get those. If not, then it’s not a big deal.”

Tripp also spoke of the recruitment process as he took the opportunity to update the fans on the team, but has urged their support as he looks to make the signings that will complete the roster.

He added: “Recruitment’s been going well although there are some things that have taken some time. Plus we started a little late with me taking the job and I’ve noticed it’s been difficult with the whole Brexit thing.

“I’ve spoken at length with Gareth about it and the market always has guys perhaps waiting for something better. We’ve got a lot of options, but we’re waiting to get the right players in.

“My message to the fans is get ready. We need good support every game. I understand the frustration because we want the team to be together. But I’m sure they’d want to right team than just a team.

“The fans make the game and I’m excited to meet everyone when things get started.”
