THE WEEK AHEAD: Three big games to come for Clan

After the disrupted fixture list over the festive period, Glasgow Clan, sponsored Aspray Glasgow West returned to action last week with four games in five nights.
Two wins and two defeats later, the team will be ready for the two games coming up this weekend as Clan entertain two teams with contrasting form.
Before we get into that, let’s look back on what you may have missed over the last few days after we returned from an enforced break.
Clan bounce back with victory over Stars
WEDNESDAY: GLASGOW CLAN vs BELFAST GIANTS (6.30pm)
A team with 11 wins on the bounce, scoring freely and within touching distance of the summit of the Premier Sports Elite League, Belfast Giants come to Glasgow in confident mood.
Arguably one of the most impressive teams on show this season, they’ll come here looking for a further two points in this re-arranged game from just after Christmas and many will fancy them to do just that.
Clan can cause their own problems for Adam Keefe’s side and will definitely be determined to not repeat the last time Belfast visited Braehead Arena when they took away a comfortable 6-0 win.
It’s a big challenge for both teams for this one and could be a fascinating contest over the fullness of the 60 minutes.
Once again, under Scottish Government restrictions, only 200 fans are allowed entry for this game and anyone with tickets should adhere to the Covid guidelines when visiting Braehead Arena.
There will be a webcast of the game as well, priced at £15 (exempt for Clan season ticket holders) and streams can be purchased from Clan TV.
SATURDAY: GLASGOW CLAN vs MANCHESTER STORM (7pm)
If Belfast’s form has been superb, then you can say it’s been quite the opposite for Manchester Storm when they return to Braehead Arena for the second time in 11 days.
It’s been a tough time for Ryan Finnerty’s team in recent weeks, especially on the road and their record of six straight losses, not to mention a solitary victory away from home in 17 attempts the whole season tells its own story.
That’s not to say it’s not possible for Manchester to come to Glasgow and win. Far from it, with the talent they have in their ranks and scoring they have in their roster.
The 3-1 win last week was welcome one from Clan’s point of view, following the enforced absence, but this encounter will provide its own storylines and possible drama.
Question is, who will come out on top?
Once more, under Scottish Government restrictions, only 200 fans are allowed entry for this game and anyone with tickets should adhere to the Covid guidelines when visiting Braehead Arena.
The attendance is subject to change depending on further announcements from the Scottish Government and this ONLY applies to Saturday’s game.
There will be a webcast of the game as well, priced at £15 (exempt for Clan season ticket holders) and streams can be purchased from Clan TV.
SUNDAY: NOTTINGHAM PANTHERS vs GLASGOW CLAN (4pm)
Another road trip this time takes the Clan to Nottingham to take on the Panthers and the chance of a big two points on the road again at the Motorpoint Arena.
Mark Matheson and Stevie Lee have done well to reinvigorate their form since the departure of Tim Wallace and being back home, will be keen to put on a show for the fans.
Clan’s 3-2 win there in November should serve them well, but Nottingham are a team who can never be written off, as Malcolm Cameron’s side will know to their cost from when they met last week.
The weekend culminates with this one and fans will be hopeful of a big couple of points in Nottingham.
Any fans attending should read and understand the Covid measures in place at the Motorpoint Arena.
Fans not attending can watch the game via webcast, where they can find information on Panthers TV.
