Glasgow’s Braehead Clan are delighted to announce the re-signing of Scottish forward Jordan Buesa and the arrival of defenceman Josh Grieveson, who joins from the Dundee Stars.

Both players will be part the club’s development apprentice scheme and also join Zach Sullivan in the Clan’s under 23 roster allocation ahead of the 2017/18 season.

Buesa, 17, first joined the club last summer as Braehead Clan’s first ever apprentice and his hard work and effort soon made him popular with the Purple Army.

He signed for NIHL North side Solway Sharks in a two-way contract and won the league and the play-offs with Martin Grubb’s side.

Buesa was delighted to seal his return to the Clan for a second season, where he revealed he’s hoping to progress his development.

“I’ve loved my first year at Braehead and I learned a lot from the guys there, who gave me huge support and I wouldn’t be where I am now without them,” he said.

“My game overall has improved such as having the speed to keep up with them, thinking and reacting quicker and that’s definitely helped.

“Thinking about next year, my approach will be much the same as my first year, which is work hard, learn from new guys and really push on in my development.

Clan are also pleased to welcome the addition of 20-year-old defenceman Josh Grieveson, who joins the club from the Clan’s Scottish rivals, the Dundee Stars.

Josh played an important part in Marc LeFebvre’s team last season, as they reached the play-off finals weekend in Nottingham at Braehead’s expense in the quarter finals.

He made 63 appearances for the Stars and has also won a gold medal in 2015 as part of the Great Britain Under-20’s team.

Grieveson says Clan’s commitment to helping develop young, talented British players was an attraction for him as he weighed up his options.

“When I spoke to the club, the decision to come to Braehead was pretty much a no brainer for me,” Grieveson said.

“They’re keen to invest in young Brits, which is great to see and it is a great set-up and a good organisation to play for.

“It was attractive to me and drew me in. The progress of players like Zach Sullivan and Jordan Buesa says a lot about what the club does for young Brits.

“Playing at Braehead as an opposition player was a good experience and you can tell the fans were awesome. It’s a good move for me and I’m looking forward to it.”

“Both will be joining us as part of our apprenticeship scheme, will train with the Clan during the week and split their game time between the Clan and the Solway Sharks in the NIHL.

“It’s important to the club and sport that we continue to give British players a chance to break into this level. We’re excited to be working with Jordan and Josh and looking forward to their development.”
