REPORT: Manchester Storm 6 Braehead Clan 3

Scott Pitt became Braehead Clan’s all-time top points scorer, but it was Manchester Storm who took the victory in a 6-3 win in Altrincham.

Pitt’s two points in this game saw him cross the line to become the Clan’s all-time points scorer with 174, overtaking Jordan Krestanovich.

His first point of the night came when he helped to assist Matt Beca get the game opener, catching Storm goalie Mike Clemente out of place.

Then Pitt broke the record with Clan’s second, sending a well struck shot past Clemente to double b Braehead’s advantage after eight minutes.

Storm pulled one back near the end of the first as Darian Dzuirzynski finished off a Mario Valery-Trabucco pass to halve the deficit.

No further progress was made from either team in the second, but when the third started, Manchester blitzed Clan with three goals that turned the game around.

Jack Prince levelled the game after 21 seconds of the third as he blasted his shot past Clan goalie Michal Zajkowski.

Matt Bissonnette then put Storm ahead with a powerplay goal as they built on their momentum, with Prince adding a shorthanded goal to open up a two goal lead.

He added his third to complete his hat-trick soon after with Gary Russell given some ice time for the final few minutes between the pipes.

Clan hit back almost instantly through Mike Hammond to cut Storm’s lead to two, but a second from Bissonnette secured victory for the Storm in the end.
