NEXT HOME GAME: We need 1 point to seal the 2018/19 Gardiner Conference title and we can do it when the Dundee Stars come to Braehead Arena THIS TUESDAY (7:30pm face-off). Tickets are available online HERE or by calling 0844 499 1700.

The Glasgow Clan are delighted to confirm that the Purple Army have voted to select this season’s Wall of Fame banner as #10 Stefan Meyer who played for the club between 2014 and 2016.

The native of Medicine Hat, Canada, joined the Clan in 2014 from EIHL rivals the Sheffield Steelers, and went on to play two season’s at Braehead Arena.

33-year-old Meyer played in over 100 games for the Clan, being an integral member of the team that achieved an EIHL runners-up spot in 2014/15 and went on to play in our inaugural Champions Hockey League campaign in 2015/16.

Clan Chief Operating Officer Gareth Chalmers commented: “After deciding to change the Wall of Fame format this season, we came up with three very worthy players who all deserve to be inducted.

“We’d like to thank Ash Goldie, Chris Frank and Stefan Meyer for their patience and for agreeing to participate during the voting process.

“When the opportunity came about to sign Stefan Meyer from Sheffield in 2014, I don’t think we could believe our luck that such a high calibre player had become available.

“That was a very special couple of season’s and it’s great to see Stefan join the likes of Matt Keith and Kyle Jones up on the wall from the most successful period in the club’s short history.

“We are excited and looking forward to welcoming Stefan and his wife Chantel over to Glasgow in March.”

Stefan will be in attendance when his banner is unveiled on Friday 15th March when the Dundee Stars are the visitors to Braehead Arena (7:30pm face-off). Tickets for this game, along with March home games, will be available later this week online via Ticketmaster, by calling 0844 499 1700 or direct at the Braehead Arena box office (Thursday’s 12 noon to 9pm, Friday’s 12 noon to 5pm and Saturday’s 10am to 2pm).

Kyle Jones banner is currently being repaired and will be hung back it’s pride of place at the same time as Stefan Meyer’s banner.
