Glasgow’s Braehead Clan forward Jay Rosehill says going out to win the Gardiner Conference title in front of the fans is the best way to do it.

Clan host Dundee Stars on Saturday with Marc LeFebvre’s men the only team that can mathematically catch them for the Conference.

Rosehill says the team are excited for it and reckons the incentive is there for them to go out and the job done.

“Going for a title and doing it in front of your own fans is the way to do it for me,” he said. “It could have been wrapped up last week, but those are things outwith your control.

“But I’m excited for this game, big time. We haven’t had a whole lot of games this month so when one comes around, the guys get very excited, especially for this one.

“It’s a chance to clinch the Conference title and at home too, so that’s all you can ask for as we look ahead.”

The former Philadephia Flyer was pleased to get back to action following an injury lay-off that left him on the sidelines for six weeks.

He added: “It felt good to be back from injury and I was getting anxious as the weeks went on. I don’t like being away from the team and watching.

“That said, it was good to watch them win, but I felt a little bit rusty against Fife and I had only two practices before that, so I’ve been working this week to get back to 100%.

“It was hard to stay in shape with a cast on your foot, but I did my best. I felt good, all things considered and it was good to get back out there.”
