The Glasgow Clan would like to thank the whole Purple Army who have raised an outstanding £10,100.00 for Pancreatic Cancer Scotland.
During the club’s EIHL game against the Guildford Flames back in November, the Clan wore special limited edition Pancreatic Cancer Scotland jersey’s.
Following the game all the jersey’s were auctioned off to the club’s supporters, with the amazing amount being donated to one of the Clan’s 2019/20 charity partners.
Clan Chief Operating Officer Gareth Chalmers commented: “On behalf of the club I would like to thank the whole Purple Army for their superb support of Pancreatic Cancer Scotland.“Following the very sad loss last year of Clan fan and volunteer Andy Bonar, this is charity and cause that is very important to myself, the club and the fanbase.
“This is as much about the Purple Army and Andy Bonar than the club, it’s their superb continued support of the jersey auctions that has allowed us to continue to make such a substantial financial contribution to Pancreatic Cancer Scotland.”
Murray Easton, Head of Fundraising & Supporter Relations, said: “We cannot thank the Glasgow Clan Ice Hockey club enough for their exceptional support. Staff, players and fans have wholeheartedly embraced our partnership, coming together to help increase awareness levels about pancreatic cancer and raise a fantastic sum of money.
“The players vlogs, fans shaving their hair, Adrian McMurchie designed jerseys that were auctioned, a special flag and lots of purple! We are proud to work with the clan. Our vision is for the 2020’s to be the decade of change and this support has helped us enter the with a huge surge of momentum.”
