The Premier Sports Elite League have announced the return of the Pride event for 2021/22, where it will take place over a whole week.
The success of the weekend, held during 2019/20 has led to a decision to host it over the course of a week, between Saturday 8th and Saturday 15th January 2022.
Like previously, the event will be held in partnership with You Can Play, the campaign dedicated to the eradication of homophobia in sport and promote the lives and work of the LGBTQ+ community.
Clan’s Chief Operation Officer Gareth Chalmers is delighted to see the event return and can’t wait for the Purple Army to lend their unwavering support again.
“The success and positivity of the event during the 2019/20 weekend is something that will stay with me forever and I’m delighted to see it return in the new season,” he said.
“The way our fans have backed and showed their support for Pride and the LGBTQ+ community makes them the best bunch of fans in the league and they’ll be loud and proud again come the time.
“The Pride weekend was a real winner across the league and the collective message was clear that anyone can play and take part.
“I’m looking forward to more of the same and we’ll be working towards organising various activities for that week, which we’ll reveal nearer the time.”
