Glasgow Clan forward Rasmus Bjerrum has opted to return to his native Denmark for the 2020/21 season.
The 28-year-old has signed with his hometown team, Esbjerg Energy in the Danish Metal Ligaen.
Bjerrum who was one of Pete Russell’s signings back in the summer of 2018, went on to score 37 goals and assist on 51 others during his time with the Clan.
Clan Chief Operating Officer Gareth Chalmers commented: “I’ve kept in regular contact with Rasmus and his agent since the end of the season about how the situation was progressing here.
“If we were in a world without Coronavirus, I am in no doubt that Rasmus would have been returning to the Clan for a third straight season.
“Understandably, Rasmus has opted to stay with his home town team for the 2020/21 season. Like Nolan LaPorte, I’ve very much left the door open for Rasmus to return to the Clan in future season’s.
“I’d like to thank Rasmus for all his efforts during his two season’s with the club and wish him and his family all the best with Esbjerg.”
