The Glasgow Clan are delighted to announce that we have teamed up with Ronald McDonald House Glasgow as one of the club’s official nominated charities during the 2019/20 season.

Ronald McDonald House Glasgow have been welcoming families since 1996, during that time over 11,000 families have stayed at the home.

Originally based adjacent to the Royal Hospital for Sick Children at Yorkhill, the house moved to Govan in 2015 following the construction of the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital.

As part of the partnership, the Clan’s home game on Saturday 7th December will be our designated Ronald McDonald Charity Night which will see the Clan wear limited edition jersey’s that will be available following the game for auction, in support of the charity.

The evening will also be the date for the Clan’s annual ‘Air the Bear’ event where the club’s supporters are encouraged to donate soft toys, which in turn will be donated to Ronald McDonald House Glasgow and the nearby Royal Hospital for Children.

Clan Chief Operating Officer Gareth Chalmers commented: “We are delighted to confirm Ronald McDonald House Glasgow as one of our nominated charitable partners for the 2019/20 season.

“The charity provides outstanding work to support young patients and their families during their time at the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital, so we felt it was a worthy cause for the club and the Purple Army to support.”

House Director for Ronald McDonald House Glasgow, Helen Craig commented:“This is an amazing opportunity for the Ronald McDonald House Glasgow to be chosen as one of The Glasgow Clan’s charitable partners this season, we are proud to be working with an organisation who shares our core ethos of creating a community for families.  Just as the Clan says about the atmosphere at their games ‘seeing is believing!’ we can also say that about the House and the facilities we provide.

“It’s through the generosity of our many supporters that the doors to the House stay open and we can continue to provide such a high standard of facilities.  The money raised through the partnership with The Glasgow Clan and the infamous Purple Army will help give families from across Scotland the comfort of always being close to their sick child whilst being treated at the Royal Hospital for Children, Glasgow and other hospitals here in the West of Scotland and will help make difficult times easier to bear.”
